Dear RVMS Families,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! It was wonderful to see so many of you during our open campus time on Friday, July 22 to pick up your student’s schedule and meet a few teachers.  I cannot believe how much some of our students have grown in just a few short weeks!!

We have grown at RVMS as well!  We anticipate opening our school year with 630 students -- an increase of 100 students from last year.  We welcome 10 new staff members to RVMS as well.  When you meet these folks on campus, please give them a warm welcome to our RVMS community:

6th Grade --     Joe Reene (Team Rocket), Susan Morelos (Team Roadrunner)

7th Grade --    Nancy Emory (Spirit), Kevin Abbott-Spitzer (Spirit), and Mari Katherine Scruggs (Spirit)

8th Grade --     Megan Lotti (Silver), Brandon Sherwood (Stars), Jessica Bode (Stars)

Specialists & Special Ed -- Lamar Hunter (Physical Education), JoHanna Farinsky (Resource)

We also welcomed some baby Roadrunners to our RVMS family over the summer!  Congratulations to:

Jennifer Neal (Special Ed) and baby boy Kai Xavier Neal
Brian Anguiz (Silver) and baby boy Cael Porter Anguiz
Kendra Forgacs (Vista) and baby girl Harper Ann Forgacs

Some changes that occured this year because of the loss of our override last fall include the loss of your music program during the instructional day.  We will have MyTown Music providing an amazing music conservatory for students beginning the week of Aug. 22.  More information will be sent home with students after our July 28 assembly featuring MyTown Music.
